Skoda Auto Muzyka is the biggest competition for musicians in Poland powered by the biggest car brand in the country. In 2014 we took care of the entire video production and get involved in the creative site of this project.
We came up with the idea of short spots (1’, 30" and 15") based on concept of “musical reality” surrounding our judges panel of musicians. These videos became the core of promo campaign and the 15" version was used as youtube pre-roll. The longest version of the clip was also available on Skoda Auto Poland youtube channel and Skoda Polska Facebook fan page. The spots conveyed nicely the main idea of the competition: finding the perfect new music for car rides.
Our concept for “guerrilla video” with the host of the show Marcin Prokop (popular TV personality) was used to promote the competition on youtube. Unaware clients of “musical Taxi” were offered a ride with karaoke style sing along instead of taxi fare. The “guerrilla” was not an empty phrase here. After a hugely demanding day of shooting we couldn’t believe that we ended up with no fatal casualties and not even one speeding or reckless driving ticket.
We were also responsible for the production of the video broadcasted during breakfast show on TVN - Polish nationwide TV channel, media partner of the competition. We put the judges to the test on the car racing track with a couple of unusual tasks such as driving with covered eyes and racing to different kinds of music.
We also produced two series of interviews with the judges, top Polish music stars: Katarzyna Nosowska, Mela Koteluk, Wojciech Waglewski, Andrzej Smolik, Fisz and popular radio host Piotr Metz. Before the entries from participants was reviewed we conducted the interviews in the studio
After they had opportunity to listen to music sent by new artists, we took the judges for a ride through Warsaw to talk their first impressions and opinions on the best competitors.
During the course of the competition the highest rated participants were awarded with short video reports that were aiming to boost their chances of winning the votes of the audience. We were responsible for conducting the interviews with the artists, finding the shooting locations in their hometowns and producing weekly series of interviews.
